As part of an initiative to recognize employers driving certification, CCO Certification identifies organizations promoting safety through its Employer Volume Recognition Awards program.

Now in its fourth year, the program recognizes employers based on certification activity reported on candidate exam applications — a clear, data-driven view of employer participation across the industry.

OSHA regulations place significant emphasis on ensuring crane operators are qualified, and CCO Certification programs are widely recognized as aligned with those requirements. For employers operating across multiple sites and jurisdictions, CCO Certification adds a structured, third-party assessment that supports consistency across crews and projects — strengthening both compliance and performance.

By supporting employees in pursuing certification, employers reinforce the importance of third-party, accredited credentials like CCO. While CCO serves as the certification body and does not provide training, employers are a key part of encouraging and supporting certification as part of a broader safety and workforce development strategy.
